Although I am currently on Spring Break, I can’t stop thinking about “the test”. When I return to school, I will have fifteen days left to pump them up and tie up loose ends, and I won’t lie. It’s kind of panic inducing! π So, how have I spent the last week or so of my life?! Working on a test prep blitz that will get my kiddos ready for the “big game”! I always tell them that the OAA is kind of like the Superbowl of third grade, that each day together is like a practice session, and each test is like a regular season game leading up to the “big game”. We use this analogy often, and I am really hoping that they will get thoroughly enjoy the activities I have planned so far. (I say “so far” because I can almost bank on the fact that I will add more over the next few weeks, and I have no idea where this theme will take us… for sure.) I do know, however, that I am really excited about what I have in my playbook.
A synonym/antonym sort! I found the mini-trashcans at Dollar Tree, but you could use the labels as sorting mats! |
This is a hula hoop Venn to compare/contrast soccer and football. The hula hoops are from Dollar Tree too! |
This is a syllabication game! The trophies were from Dollar Tree. I just numbered them with a Sharpie. |
This is another syllabication board. I used pom poms for counters instead. Guess where the dice is from!? π |
These spinners will be great practice for word play. I just need to pick up some brads! (Plates from Dollar Tree! Ha!) |
This is a card from my Read the Room Center. It has a corresponding booklet to fill out. I also have cheers! |
These are great little signs for small group work! Sometimes props can make a big difference! |
This is my coaching binder! The next picture shows the contents! |
I plan on pulling kiddos to work with me individually with dry erase markers. I will most likely add more of these! |
These baggies are for a contraction matching game! π |
I know I already blogged about my ELA Test Strategy Posters, but I wanted to share them again, because they go along with some of the activities in my Football Frenzy packet so well.
